Weekly Updates
2011
Thursday, 27th January
Bedarra Boy won nicely at Taunton and is now having a short holiday before coming back for the better ground later on. Vincentian ran nicely in the bumper and will be seen to better effect over hurdles. I was pleased with Theatre Dance who jumped very well and we will be looking for a more galloping track for his next race.
Monday, 17th January
The horses ran very well last week. Coda Agency & Silver Dollars both won very nicely and Bedarra Boy & Shaded Edge in finishing second both ran very good races. The horses appear to be in very good form and hopefully the run will continue for the next few weeks. We have some nice young horses coming out once the ground dries up a little bit and I am looking forward to them running.
Friday, 7th January
We ended 2010 on a very good note having a double at Warwick. Silver Dollars pleased me greatly as he has had his wind problems and I felt that soft ground might be totally against him.
Shuil Royale jumps very well and his future will be hurdling & chasing.
I'm hoping to run Theatre Dance at Chepstow tomorrow in the Welsh National, however, there is the threat of a lot more rain and if it came up heavy he probably would not run. Spe Salvi runs on Monday at Taunton. She jumps well and as long as it is not too soft she should put up a bold show for her first run over hurdles.
2010
Thursday, 30th December
The snow has gone so we are back in business. Unfortunately the ground is going to be soft for a while but we have a couple of runners at Warwick tomorrow. Silver Dollars, who would prefer better ground, and a nice horse Shuil Royale who will benefit from this his first run.
Thursday, 23rd December
A very enjoyable day yesterday with 2 nice winners, with Coda Agency winning at Lingfield and One Oi at Kempton. All the horses are running well at the moment and hopefully over the Bank Holiday both Silver Dollars and Theatre Dance will get a run and should go well.
Tuesday, 14th December
The horses are running well and I was very pleased with One Oi's run at Lingfield and Theatre Dance's run at Folkestone today. The running plans for the next 10 days will have to be fluid though because of the weather forecast.
Tuesday, 7th December
Uplands have a couple of entries at Cheltenham on Friday with Theatre Dance and Dominican Monk both ready for a run and we are hoping to get a race. We have managed to keep the horses ticking over nicely and now await the thaw.
Tuesday, 30th November
Leelu ran a really nice race to win at Kempton on Sunday and she will now have a holiday and come back to race on the grass next season. Uplands have lots of horses ready to run at the moment but with the present weather conditions, not much racing is taking place.
Tuesday, 23rd November
The horses that have run are back to themselves. Bedarra Boy won first time out over fences and the Kempton runners both ran very well. If the weather holds up we will hopefully run Oscar Park in a Handicap Hurdle in preparation for a chasing campaign later on. Leelu runs at Kempton on the all-weather on Sunday and she will hopefully run her usual sound race.
Tuesday, 16th November
We have some entries this week and the first of the jumpers should be running. I think the horses are right so we will have to see how they run through the week.
Tuesday, 5th October
Don Pooleoni might run on Thursday at Worcester or Saturday @ Chepstow. It will more likely be Chepstow if the ground is set to improve over the coming days.
Tuesday, 28th September
Last few runners have been slightly disappointing and seem to have run fairly flat. We run Leelu on Wednesday at Salisbury and hopefully she'll run well but there is a slight doubt about the well being of the horses at the moment.
Tuesday, 21st September 2010
A quiet week this week. Depending on the ground Don Pooleoni could run at Worcester on Friday. He needs good ground or softer and is expected to step-up on his very good debut at Ffos Las at the end of last month. We might have some all-weather runners on Saturday night at Wolverhampton but yet to be decided.
Tuesday, 14th September 2010
Probably only a couple of runners this week. Shaded Edge goes to Kempton tomorrow night. He's been a bit disappointing of late but we are putting the cheekpieces back on and hopefully this will regenerate his interest.
James Doyle who rides seems to get on very well with him and he has a good draw. Bedarra Boy runs on Thursday at Wolverhampton. As he didn't seem to get the trip at Huntingdon over hurdles in a fast run race and the 1m 6f should suit him and he seems well in himself.
Tuesday, 7th September 2010
Uplands only has 2 runners this week with Leelu running at Epsom having come out of her Goodwood race very well. As long as she acts at the track she should run well. Desert Sea is in at Doncaster but having had 25mm rain on Monday night it is counting against him at the moment.
