Why Uplands?
David Arbuthnot has returned to Uplands where he trained successfully under both codes from 1985-1989.
He has recently been in Lambourn at Saxon Gate from where he sent out many winners including group and listed, and he won the Lincoln with Zucchero. He also has had numerous National Hunt winners including winning the Doncaster Sales Mares Bumper Final at Cheltenham.
David is married to Di, who having been a very successful amateur jockey, is now running the racing charity RoR. They have 2 daughters: Phoebe and Rosanna.
Set in the heart of the Berkshire Downs just minutes from Newbury Racecourse, the estate extends to 200 acres and has all the major facilities required with 60 boxes, private all-weather and grass gallops, covered ride, schooling grounds, horse walker and many turn out paddocks.
Winning Culture
Experienced jockeys Tom Doyle, Tom Scudamore and William Kennedy do the schooling and race riding under National Hunt Rules. The flat horses are ridden by Brett Doyle & Eddie Ahern whenever possible or failing that, the best available.
You can become a racehorse owner at Uplands in several different ways. Better still, arrange to visit us and we will happily advise you on the best way forward.
If for example you are considering a partnership we have expert advice available to set your partnership up and if required, even run it for you. Our yard is sponsored which will enable you to reclaim VAT once your ownership is registered with your local Customs and Excise office.
